It’s Just So Damn German. Antichrist Explained.

March 4, 2010

Antichrist

Explanation

For how confusing it may be at first, Antichrist is a very simplistic movie. She is all things that are satan…he has managed to manifest himself in her; and she obviously can’t handle it. Her husband is the light, trying to save her from her darkness. He becomes a form of God in the end when he destroys satan even thou, she is the one he loves the most. This is why in the epilogue all the people who have been seemingly hurt by satan are flocking to him. If you look up “satan’s church” it might make alot more sense.
I thought the cinematography was some of the best i’ve ever seen. Ever shot was so grabbing, and the slow motion combined with the ambient sound created such a different environment from real life. And thats something that a vast majority of movies really don’t do so well.
It was a movie that you should see if you can stomach some of the things that happen. If you can get through the first scene you’ll last the whole movie. But, to be quite honest, it certainly wasn’t something i want to see more than once.

btw, this movie was number one of a list of movies that wouldn’t get you a second date.

1.5 Million ppl will agree…this is the best Sex scene from Nip/Tuck EVER.

January 16, 2010

The song is “As the Rush Comes” By Motorcycle, remixed by Gabriel and Dresden, who have done much of the soundtrack for the show.  If you know anything about nip/tuck, it often has dramatically sophisticated scenes wound with great music. This is from Season 3 Episode 9.

Top Gear 14×06 South American Special

January 11, 2010

They do call them specials for a reason. The latest Top gear Episode features the trio treking through Bolivian rainforests, and up Chilean moutain ranges. With Top gear plot & episode writing lacking in recent episodes, this really does make up for a lot of lost joy. If you haven’t seen the North Pole Special, African Special, Or Vietnamese Special, be sure to catch those as well.

Youtube may still be up:

Top 5 Reasons You liked Avatar.

December 23, 2009

Reasons you liked avatar.
5. Everything about it is BIG: big budget, big production, big story, big blue people, big ships with big guns, big timelines, and big creatures.

4. CG has gotten so good, you don’t even realize it’s there.

3. Well written, from a seasoned director. James Cameron has done Terminator,T2, Aliens, Titanic, the Abyss…all great movies. Just like these, the plot in Avatar is beautifully melded to the storyline. Anything from characters that change sides to foreshadowing. You as a viewer, can take the plot elements and put the story together yourself; and be satisfied that you saw it coming. However, it doesn’t give anything away, so all of it stays…

2. BELIEVABLE- many people thought avatar would be a massive flop. The reason it didn’t is because even though it is a alien planet, the elements that appear throughout the story are very closely tied to humanity, and the viewer can easily make the connection (The dogs that attack him, the horses they ride, the hierarchy of the tribe). These are all things the audience can relate to, making us understand the story. It doesn’t matter that its all alien, we still get it…

1. But, the Icing on the cake is though undoubtably…
The Navi way of life. It’s entirely centered around what everyone knows in their heart to be true. Their world is their connection, their life-force. And when you are telling a story, the message is most apparent in contrast.
Aside from being a very entertaining and uplifting movie, what statement does avatar make? It shows you the darkest of humanity and the brightest of purity side by side; and LIFE prevailing in the end. And who couldn’t use a little bit of that now and then?

Hats off to James Cameron, he has combined outstanding special effects with a phenomenal STORY to match. Take that Transformers 2.
